My first attempt at a Milky Way picture. By far, the best out of the first few attempts.
How did I do it? Read a lot of articles on how to and finally settled on the following....
Metadata: Canon 5D Mark III, 25 sec exposure, ISO 6000, 24-105 lens @ 24mm, f/4.0.
And it was several weeks later I discovered the map of the USA with best places to take night photos of the stars without light pollution from towns, cities, etc... this spot at Rancho Del Rio on the Colorado River is one of the better places. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time, camping with friends over Labor Day weekend... and I saw this.
